When firm designer, Bronwyn Huffard, returned to Maine with her husband and four children in 2007, the family purchased a1921Colonial Revival home in Oakhurst Neighborhood of Cape Elizabeth and embarked on an ambitious renovation. With the help of architect Joe Chalat and Spang Builders, Bronwyn reimagined the layout of the 1st floor, opening-up small, closed-off rooms to form large multi-purpose spaces for modern family living. In the new family kitchen, Bronwyn created a classic signature design using thoughtful scale, natural materials, and bold use of color as an accent. She reveled in the details of her vintage home, restoring the arched plaster door frames - while modernizing other aspects such as the custom steel hand railings on the back staircase. She furnished the home with an eclectic mix of collected vintage finds, family heirlooms, and more contemporary pieces . Finally, Bronwyn’s love of textiles can be seen throughout the home in the custom window treatments, upholstery, and personality-filled accents.
